Sonyta stars in A Taste of Tamworth

Hampton Park’s Sonyta Trahar was selected by Taste of Tamworth as the winner for the emerging artist spot for their Friday night, August 3 show at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren.

The 23 year old started writing songs when she was 13.

She’s had some great success in both singing and song writing, having won many awards.

In 2009 she decided to concentrate more on country, and brought her first guitar and started to teach herself to play, and then was fortunate enough in 2015 to be chosen to participate in the senior Academy of Country Music in Tamworth.

She now performs around the City of Casey as much as possible and teaches music, dance and drama at the Songbird School of Performing arts in Pakenham.

The Taste of Tamworth tour provides the perfect opportunity for some emerging acts to get the chance to be part of a big show.

Emerging artists from the Narre Warren area were invited to submit a song, picture and blurb about themselves for the chance to be included in the show for a song.
