Children celebrate reading

Haileybury’s Berwick campus will be celebrating Book Week with a jammed packed week of literature inspired activities.

Each year across Australia, the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) brings children and books together for CBCA Book Week.

From 21 to 24 August, students from Prep to Year 6 will be participating in a range of workshops and readings with leading Australia authors and illustrators such as Fiona Harris,

Scott Edgar, Phillip Gwynne and Andrew Plant.

The students will also receive some tips from top illustrator, Sunshine.

The School’s celebration will end with a Book Week parade on Friday, 24 August where the students will dress up as their favourite book characters, following this year’s theme ‘Find

Your Treasure’.

Haileybury is proud to continue encouraging a love for reading among students and support the importance of story telling.
