Cop car rammed

Police are on the hunt for a driver who allegedly rammed a grey hatch-back into an unmarked police car in Narre Warren on Thursday 24 August.

Police say the hatch-back, believed to have been bearing stolen registration plates, was observed travelling south on Narre Warren North Road just after 9.35am.

Police followed the vehicle as it drove into a car park and attempted an intercept.

The driver failed to stop and drove forward before crashing into the unmarked police vehicle.

The offending vehicle continued driving and remains outstanding.

Police believe a man and a woman were inside the hatch-back at the time.

The police vehicle sustained damage to the rear driver’s side.

The two police officers inside the vehicle at the time did not suffer any injuries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
