Beekeepers were urgently called to a very busy car park in the Narre Warren area on Friday afternoon, 28 September.
A team from The Bunyip BeeKeeper attended the scene to rescue a colony of Italian bees swarming around the rear of a blue car.
On site, beekeeper Caroline Hammond showed 16-year-old, beekeeper enthusiast Lachlan, the ropes and ways to beekeeping on his first day of work.
Spring is the start of beekeeping season.
