Retirement Festival returns to Berwick for week of music

Seniors of Berwick were treated to a week of music as part of the Lendlease Spring Retirement Festival, at the Woodlands Park and Fiddlers Green villages this week.

“The festival is a joyous time to explore and engage in fun and friendship, contentment and connection,” Lendlease Retirement Living managing director, Tony Randello said.

“The huge variety of activities will reinvigorate you and leave you feeling inspired.”

The Woodlands Park village’s own hairdressing salon and barber was a hub of excitement on Thursday as seniors prepped for a night of toe-tapping, singing and dancing.

With slick choreography to perfect harmonies, Australia’s Girls of Motown had guests celebrating a musical era defined by upbeat rhythms, funky dance moves and lyrics inspired by optimism and resilience.

On Wednesday at Fiddlers Green, there was a noticeable buzz at the billiards tables and bowling green.

Throughout the afternoon the village was alive with rock and roll tunes, with performer Joe Piastrino paying homage to some of the greatest artists of all time, including Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly.

Celebrations carried into the evening, on the dancefloor and into the dining facilities, outdoor terrace and the village’s men’s shed.

Mr Randello said the local villages encourage residents to experience retirement in any way they choose.

“Spring, just like retirement, can be a time of powerful renewal with new experiences to be discovered or old passions and interests to be reignited,” Mr Randello said.

“The Spring Retirement Festival provides the opportunity for the entire community to come together, try something different, meet new people and have a wonderful time.”

Festival locations, Fiddlers Green and Woodlands Park, offer residents the opportunity to retire in a relaxing and convenient location, every day.

The Fiddlers Green village offers residents a peaceful country atmosphere, as well as close proximity to some of Melbourne’s best shopping and communal attractions, including Fountain Gate Shopping Centre and Cranbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

Woodlands Park is just down the road from the historic town of Berwick, and offers residents the opportunity to live in style, in a convenient location near the city.

The nation-wide Spring Retirement festival continues through Victoria until 16 October.

Seniors can find out what other events are on offer and reserve tickets at: springretirementfestival.com.au or call the Spring Retirement Festival hotline on 1800 550 550.
