Writers Victoria is launching its Casey Writers Project at Bunjil Place Library on Friday 12 October with ‘The Art of Story’, presented by acclaimed Australian author, Arnold Zable.
“Writers Victoria recently surveyed residents of Casey about their writing needs and we have formulated a series of workshops to guide Casey writers through the development of their stories,” Writers Victoria director Angela Savage said. “We’re thrilled to deliver the workshops in collaboration with Bunjil Place Library.”
City of Casey mayor, Geoff Ablett, said council was proud to be able to support organisations to deliver arts opportunities and activities for the Casey community through the Arts Development Funding.
“Council embraces arts and acknowledges the positive contribution that the arts make to creating vibrant, connected and healthy communities,” he said.
“We are excited to see how Writers Victoria put their funding to good use to encourage, unite and support our residents of all ages who love to write.”
The Casey Writers Project is a three-year series of workshops, clinics and salons.
The first instalment of the project, ‘The Art of Story’, is a free, two-hour event, starting at 1.30pm on Friday 12 October at Bunjil Place Library.
Upcoming workshops include ‘Starting on the Path to Publication’, on Sunday 11 November, and ‘Beyond the 3 Act Structure’, on Sunday 25 November.
Workshops in the first year of the Casey Writing Project are free but bookings are essential.
