This year’s Akoonah Park Men’s Shed’s Classics in the Park Car and Bike Show in Berwick is set to be the best yet, with activities on offer for the whole family on Sunday, 28 October at the Berwick Show Grounds.
Now its its third year, the Car and Bike Show brings together arts, market stalls, good quality food, raffles, live music and of course, great classic, vintage, and modern cars, bikes, hot rods, and military vehicles all on show at the Akoonah Park Grounds in Berwick.
Akoonah Park Men’s Shed member Nick Bolis has been behind the scenes helping to organise the event over the past few months.
“It’s always a nice family day, even if not all family members are interested in cars,” he said.
“Akoonah Park Market is on every Sunday and it offers a variety of goods, clothes, toys, food, plants, bric a brac, etc. There is something for everyone and this market is considered one of the best Sunday market in Melbourne.
“People come along to see the cars and bikes and more often than not wander through the market and check out all the stalls”.
The day will see talented live musical entertainers such as The Sound of Them take to the stage, the music will be great.
Last year there were around 600 cars and bikes that attended the show, and it continues to grow each year.
“This year we’re expecting a lot more. The word has been getting around,” Mr Bolis said.
“Everyone is welcome regardless of whatever car or bike they have.”
All car and bike owners will participate in the free raffles. There are some excellent prizes on offer.
Akoonah Park Men’s Shed would like to thank Autobarn Narre Warren and Harley Heaven who have donated the prizes.
Participants will be able to have their cars and bikes judged. Judges will award trophies for the various categories on offer.
Come along with your vehicle and you never know, you maybe going home with a trophy.
Funds raised on the day go to The Akoonah Men’s Shed who help promote Men’s Health in the Community and are proud sponsors of The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Gates open at 8am. Costs $10 for car and bike including passengers. Visitors: adults $5, children under 16 are free.
