Hundreds show they will remember

A large mixed crowd of around 200-300 people gathered in Berwick to remember the sacrifices soldiers made 100 years ago on Sunday, 11 November.

Quite a number of veterans attended including guest speaker, Vietnam veteran Bill Rogers.

Mr Rogers is also a member of the Berwick RSL and a highly valued member of the South Eastern Legacy Group.

Everything he spoke about was based on his own experiences in Vietnam.

“Within Berwick we actually have a number of descendants of Victoria Cross Recipients,” Berwick RSL secretary Chris McKenna said.

“We’ve just finished our poppy appeal and on behalf of the president committee and the veteran community, we thank the wider community of Berwick, Narre Warren and Beaconsfield for their donations.”
