Preps enjoy their big day

Tissues and TimTams were on hand for day one at Harkaway Primary School. They were for the parents though – not the prep students!

“We’ve been welcoming children into prep for over 140 years, and this is the first time I recall that there were no tears, from students or parents,” principal Leigh Johnson said.

Over a dozen preps started their first day on Thursday after a lots of visits to the school community last year.

One of the most anticipated events of the year is the junior school camp where the preps, Grade ones and twos all pack up and head off to camp.

“This is a time where the children, parents and teachers all have an opportunity to get to know each other and some life long friendships are developed,” head on junior school Simone Randle said.
