Police hunt women over alleged assault

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an assault that occurred outside a Narre Warren shopping centre earlier this month.

Detectives believe two unknown female offenders approached the victim, a 23-year-old Dandenong woman, about 6pm on Monday 4 March near Overland Drive.

The pair made demands for money and assaulted the victim, who sustained an injury to her leg, police say.

Police allege the women did not steal any money before fleeing the scene on foot.

The first woman is described as about 170cm tall with a slim build and dark coloured hair worn in a ponytail.

She was wearing a black singlet top, black jeans and white Adidas sneakers with black stripes.

The second woman is described about 170cm tall with a solid build and dark coloured hair worn in a ponytail.

She was wearing grey t-shirt, blue jeans with ripped knees, white sneakers and a white sweatband on her right arm.

Both are perceived to be Pacific Islander or Maori in appearance and believed to be aged between 14 to 18 years old.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at www.crimestoppers.com.au
