Doctors and families gathered at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren for the Bangladesh Medical Society of Victoria annual general meeting and scientific seminar on Saturday 15 June.
BMSV Office Secretary Dr Nazmul Hoque said the day was attended by specialists of different disciplines of medicine, as well as the Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos.
“She mentioned around 800 personnel of Bangladeshi origin are working in Victorian health and social welfare systems. From a small Bangladeshi community, this number is significant,” Dr Hoque said.
“She expressed her wishes to work together with the organisation for better delivery of health services for the wider Victorian population.”
During the AGM the new BMSV executive committee was formed President Dr AMMZ Quddus elected president.
“It was indeed a successful annual general meeting, which is the result of contribution from the executive committee members and Dr Shahed Alam as a AGM convenor,” Dr Hoque said.
“Bangladesh Medical Society of Victoria promises all the cooperation from the organisation for any issue and situation in Victoria.”
