Giant piggy bank comes to town

A giant piggy bank will roll into Narre Warren in a bid to raise $1 million for children with life-threatening conditions.

The piggy bank, stretching to three metres in height and weighing in at 700 kilograms, will stop at Narre Warren Newsagency between 10.30am and 2pm on Saturday, 13 July as part of the annual Very Special Kids Piggy Bank Appeal.

The venue will be fundraising, selling cute piggy merchandise and encouraging the community to support local families in need.

Very Special Kids chief executive Michael Wasley says the charity relies on the Victorian community to help continue its services.

“Each year it costs over $8.8 million to operate Very Special Kids. Without donations from our community we would not be able to continue caring for these brave families,” he said.
