Would you like to play an important and active role in your community by helping to assess award nominations and grant applications for the City of Casey?
Council is currently taking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from residents to join a Community Selection Panel to help assess award nominations for programs like the Casey Australia Day Awards and Casey Volunteer Awards, as well as assist with reviewing applications for a range of Council grant programs.
“We’re hoping to attract 30 new residents to our panel with a balanced representation of our community, so we’d love applications from people from different ages, backgrounds and interests,” Casey mayor Amanda Stapledon said.
“Each year, council calls on our Community Selection Panel to play an important role in a range of programs including selecting the worthy recipients of our annual awards programs and helping to allocate funds to community groups and organisations.
“This is a great opportunity to influence council decision making, participate in your community, share your skills, thoughts and knowledge and gain a better understanding of what Council delivers.”
To ensure we have a balanced community representation on the panel, Council would particularly welcome applications from:
• young people (18 to 25-years-old)
• new residents
• residents from a diverse community background
• women and
• residents from the suburbs of Lyndhurst, Hampton Park, Lynbrook and Cranbourne
The panel sits six times per year to discuss and recommend award nominees and winners along with allocation of grant funds. As a panel member, you will have flexibility to accept or decline invitations to participate based on your availability.
