Wearing red for Daniel

Primary students of Hampton Park Primary School dressed in red on Friday 25 October to raise awareness of child safety.

The school participated in a Day for Daniel in support for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

It is a national day of action and is the largest child safety awareness for child protection and prevention, aimed to help empower children.

“It aims to help empower our children to recognise, react and report if they feel something is not right,” principal Liz Davey said.

Daniel Morcombe was wearing a red t-shirt when he was abducted in Queensland on 7 December 2003. He was last seen waiting for a bus.

The school was a sea of red as students and staff wore red wigs, sprayed their hair red, and wore red ribbons or bandanas to support the day.
