Active cases dip below 10

Casey’s active Covid-19 infections has dropped by two, according to the state’s latest health data.

The city’s tally now stood at 70 cases – with nine active cases in the past 24 hours to 4 June.

In nearby council areas, Greater Dandenong’s infections remained steady on 18 with one active case while Cardinia had 16 and zero active cases.

In the past day, Victoria’s cases rose by seven to 1678. Of them, 1584 have recovered.

There have been 177 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Victoria that have been acquired through unknown transmission.

Currently seven people are in hospital, including two patients in intensive care.

Of the new cases, six were detected in returned travellers in hotel quarantine and one case is under investigation.

The remaining case is a household contact linked to the outbreak at Rydges on Swanston, which now has 13 confirmed cases.
