Active Covid-19 cases have dropped to three in Casey City over the past 24 hours, according to the state’s latest health data.
The city’s tally stood at 71 cases with three active cases – down from six reported earlier in the week.
In nearby council areas, Greater Dandenong had confirmed two active cases while Cardinia had zero active cases.
In the past day, Victoria’s cases rose by four to 1702. Of them, 1632 have recovered.
There have been 179 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Victoria that have been acquired through unknown transmission.
Currently five people are in hospital, including one patient in intensive care.
Of the new cases, one was detected in a child attending the Kangaroo Ground Pre-school. The facility will be closed for at least 24 hours from today for deep cleaning.
Another was detected as part of routine testing and two cases were detected in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.
“Thanks to Victorians playing their part, staying at home and getting tested, we have made some great progress in slowing the spread of coronavirus,” Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said.
“Our low rate of community transmission means we have been able to ease some restrictions.”
