Coronavirus infections have dropped to five active cases in Casey City, according to the state’s latest health data.
It comes as Victoria’s cases rose by 18 to 1780. Of them, 1678 have recovered, the 18 June figures revealed.
The data showed cases dropped by one in Casey in the 24 hours to Wednesday 18 June. In nearby council areas, Greater Dandenong has recorded two active cases while Cardinia had five.
There have been 192 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Victoria that have been acquired through unknown transmission.
Currently four people are in hospital, including two patients in intensive care.
The new case linked to an outbreak is a household contact of a case associated with the Croydon Family Practice outbreak – bringing the total number of cases in this outbreak to five.
One of the new cases attended the Black Lives Matter march but was not infectious at the time. The source of acquisition for this case is unknown, and no links have been identified between this and other cases previously reported as having attended the march. This new case worked at the H&M store at Northland while infectious and the store has been closed while cleaning and other public health actions are undertaken.
Two of the new cases attended childcare facilities for one day while infectious, one being a worker at The Learning Sanctuary Pakenham and a toddler at the Guardian Childcare Centre in South Yarra.
Another case has also been detected in a staff member at the Victorian Rehabilitation Centre in Glen Waverley.
