A Cranbourne woman has been charged with murder after the body of a missing man was found in Lysterfield on 17 June.

Court documents showed it had been more than a month before police found the human remains of 26-year-old Zane Meyer at a semi-rural area near Nixon Road in Lysterfield following his death.

The woman accused of his alleged murder, 37-year-old Nicole Anthea Anderson of Cranbourne was arrested and appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday 19 June.

Missing Persons Squad detectives charged Ms Anderson with the murder of Mr Meyer, which court documents show occurred sometime between 11 May and 13 May at Oakleigh, about 20 kilometres from where he is to believed to have been allegedly killed.

Mr Meyer was last seen on 11 May and had been reported as a missing person.

Upon discovering his body police treated the matter as suspicious – with a post mortem conducted to determine his death.

Ms Anderson did not apply for bail at court and the next hearing will be held on 11 September.
