Covid-19 infections have again climbed in Casey by 13 active cases overnight, according to the state’s latest health data.
Casey’s total active cases now stands at 310.
This figure now surpasses active cases in the local government areas of Mooney Valley (232) and Melbourne (298).
Victoria has recorded 439 new cases of coronavirus in the 24 hours to Tuesday 4 August, with the total number of cases now at 12,335.
In neighbouring Great Dandenong, there are now 186 active cases and 53 in Cardinia.
Sixty-three cases are linked to Outlook Gardens aged-care home in Dandenong North.
The state’s total has risen to 6706 active cases, including 731 active cases of infected health care workers.
There have been 11 new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. They include a man in his 70s, one man and three females in their 80s, two males and three females in their 90s and one woman in her 100s.
All of the 11 new deaths are linked to known outbreaks in aged care facilities. To date, 147 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.
There are 456 hospital patients with Covid-19, with 36 in intensive care.
The department is also looking into cases linked to Golf Links Rehabilitation Centre in Frankston, Parkville Youth Justice, Hume Central Secondary College and Lilydale Lodge Supported Residential Services.
