Choir returns in full voice

Voices of Casey has returned for its first post-Covid concert, wowing crowds with a beautiful set of songs in what was described as “the absolute best day”.

An almost-full house enjoyed the concert, ‘Reflections’, on Sunday 16 May at Fiddlers Green Retirement Village in Berwick.

The series of songs performed followed the who, what, when, where, why and how of life and told of making it through challenges to the other side.

Members of the choir described the mood on the day as “infectious” and told of how excited they were to be able to finally return to public singing and connect in person with each other and the audience.

The choristers said the audience of around 75 people had been really responsive, with many saying the choir had been in their best ever form.

Voices of Casey music director Kerry Gerraty said the success of the day was down to a team effort.

“They do the work and produce on the day,” she said of the singers.

“It’s a delight to be up in front of them again.”

During 2020 the choir met for Zoom rehearsals – but as Ms Gerraty said, “Zoom doesn’t cut it”.

Now back in person and in full voice, choir members said they were glad to be able to bring entertainment directly to audiences again.

The Voices of Casey team thanked Fiddlers Green for its ongoing support.

The next concert will be held later in the year, with a planned theme of ‘The Colour of Life’.
