Monash reopened after accident

The outbound lanes of the Monash Freeway have been re-opened at Clyde Road, Berwick following a police incident.

Traffic remains very heavy on the freeway, with delays queuing back to Belgrave-Hallam Road.

Surrounding roads carrying detouring traffic are also busier than usual including the Princes Highway through Hallam, Narre Warren and Berwick, Ernst Wanke Road, Kangan Drive and Bryn Mawr Boulevard.

Drivers are asked to be patient and to remain alert as congestion begins to ease.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria confirmed it was a self-harm incident.
