Car crashes into retaining wall

A man was lucky to escape injury after he crashed into a garden retaining wall in Narre Warren.

Police were called to the Darling Way crash following reports a car had veered onto the wrong side of the road, near the intersection of Mahone Crescent, on Tuesday 12 October about 11pm.

The car also crashed into a parked car and two poles before coming to rest on the retaining wall.

The 31-year-old driver, who returned a negative preliminary breath test and drug test, wasn’t injured.

A search of the man’s car uncovered a number of vials believed to contain alleged steroids.

The Narre Warren man has been interviewed by police and received 16 charges including seven of traffick a drug of dependence, seven of possess a drug of dependence, careless driving and fail to maintain proper control of a vehicle.

He has been bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 18 January 2022.
