After two years of Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions, new university and TAFE students will have the chance to experience life on campus with a series of information days to be held next week.
The Federation University Australia information days will feature campus tours, personalised advice on study options, guidance on adjusting VTAC preferences and information on scholarship opportunities.
The information days are an opportunity to welcome new students on campus for face-to-face learning in 2022 and provide them with a snapshot of what to expect.
Federation president Duncan Bentley encouraged potential students to attend.
“Nothing beats an on-campus experience, and we are excited to welcome our existing and new students and staff for an exciting 2022,” Mr Bentley said.
“We have been working closely with regional industries to provide courses and programs that will meet their needs.”
Federation offers over 400 courses from TAFE and short courses, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as world-class research.
The university will bring a range of new offerings next year including a new speech pathology program to address workforce shortages in the health sector, and Australia’s first hybrid TAFE and university degree in food sustainability, that combines practical skills training with critical analysis.
Federation chief executive officer TAFE Liam Sloan said he was thrilled to have students and staff back on campus, and return learning activities to normal.
“Opening Federation to future students will give them the chance to experience what life will be like on campus,” Mr Sloan said.
On campus and virtual information days will take place on Thursday 16 December and Friday 17 December at campuses in Berwick, Ballarat, Brisbane, Gippsland, and Horsham.
