Cardinia offering addtional green waste service

Additional kerbside green waste collections are available for Cardinia Shire residents impacted by the 2021 storms to assist with the clean-up.

The new bookable service will begin operating in January 2022.

The council will process the request and Cleanaway will be in contact via phone or email to confirm the booking.

To have your green waste collected the pile must be no larger than 2 cubic metres per collection (2 metres x 1 metre x 1 metre).

Green waste items must be less than 1.5 meters long and less than 30kgs.

If your clean up requirements do not meet the criteria there are additional options available, including the SES ‘chaps and chainsaws’ program, Habitats for Humanity, and Treasuring Our Trees, volunteer initiatives that specialise in removing trees and large branches from properties.

Contact the Cardinia Shire Council’s Recovery Team to discuss your clean up needs and they will assist you with accessing the relevant clean-up service.

If you would like to report fallen or damaged trees in the area you can complete the online form on the Cardinia Shire Council’s website.

To access an additional collection, you can contact the Cardinia Shire Council’s Recovery Team on 1300 787 624.

For more information about green waste collection, or to book online visit our hard waste webpage.
