Three footballers who made their start at Berwick Junior Football Club had their dreams come true when they were selected in the 2021 AFL Draft in November.

Mac Andrew was taken with the Gold Coast Suns’ prized number five selection, while Judson Clarke (pick 30) and Miller Bergman (pick 38) were taken by Richmond and North Melbourne, respectively.

The three represented the Dandenong Stringrays in the NAB League competition this year and returned to Berwick the day after the draft to celebrate their achievements.

Berwick Football Club president Glenn Gambetta said that the club was so excited by the prospects that they had organised the photo shoot at the club weeks in advance.

“We were so excited – it’s a bit arrogant – but one of the dads had pre-planned that once they get drafted, we will get them to the footy club,” Gambetta said.

“So that photo-shoot we did the other day was half organized three weeks ago.”
