Happy Australia Day from Edelweiss Casey Choir

Edelweiss Casey Choir performing for Australia Day.

While many ventures were on pause over the last two years due to the consequences of lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been far from quiet for the Edelweiss Casey Choir.

Music performances by the choir members have been going on almost non-stop, far before its inception on 12 April, 2021 under the strong leadership of president Emily Hu and artistic director Lili Xu.

The 2022 Australia Day online live celebration saw unforgettable musical performances by the Edelweiss Casey Choir with a spectacular talent display.

Some of the performances included choral pieces, solo songs, recital poems, acting, dance and playing musical instruments.

The acknowledgement to country and the City of Casey was made before the official performance was kicked off with the Australian national anthem being played.

All the choristers made an effort join the in celebration, with a good crowd present online to enjoy their performances.

The choir brought an element of absolute pure joy to the celebration of Australia Day.

Members said the energy, enthusiasm and love of what they do was unmistakable and infectious.

The Edelweiss Casey Choir used this Australia Day as an opportunity for them, both as individuals and as a non-profit community organisation, to be informed, sensitive and empathetic.

Choir members said it was important to recognise the engagement between City of Casey council and the local community to encourage individual choice, sensitivity and understanding, to allow social cohesion and ensure each part of society feels heard.
