First day back for preps

Casey Grammar School Foundation students were all smiles as they started the first day of their schooling journey.

When asked about what they were most excited about, the foundation students said ‘everything’ including learning new and exciting things, wearing their school uniform, playing on the school playground, meeting their teacher and making new friends.

To celebrate the first day of school on Monday 31 February, Casey Grammar School Foundation students enjoyed a morning of introductions, sharing time, ‘my first day of school’ craft activities and a tour of the school grounds – with a focus on the playground.

Principal Fiona Williams said it was wonderful to see the school ground buzzing with excitement and joy.

“It was an absolute pleasure standing at the front gate greeting the students as they returned to school,” Mrs Williams said.

“They were all smiling and happy to be back.”

She said there were plenty of smiles and laughter as new Foundation students started the first day of their schooling journey.

“And while some students were a bit nervous when they first arrived, all students quickly adjusted to their new surroundings and enjoyed a fun filled morning of introductions, sharing time, ‘my first day of school’ craft activities and a tour of the school grounds.”

With new Covid-19 safety practices in place, Mrs Williams said the school was well-prepared to welcome students back for Term One.

“Casey Grammar School follows the Victorian Government School Operations Guidelines as we endeavour to continue to provide a CovidSafe and healthy school environment,” she said.

“The guidelines advocate the three V’s – ventilation, vaccination and vital CovidSafe steps.

“The safety of our school community is our top priority.”
