The weather, the entries, the support and the outcome could not have been better for the 2022 Berwick and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society livestock and pavilion event, which was held over the last weekend in February when we staged the judging of many of the traditional events usually held at our annual show.
The craft and cooking arrived Friday and was judged Saturday, and the show jumping fraternity rolled in on Saturday for two full days of exciting competition.
The poultry arrived Saturday morning as did sheep, dog flyball and the cattle started arriving mid-morning for an afternoon workshop.
The junior handlers and heifer show was followed by traditional judging on Sunday along with the goats who enjoyed being judged under the shade of the trees.
Whilst, as a society, we chose to respect the safety of our exhibitors with regard to Covid-19, it was evident by the enjoyment felt by exhibitors that we had made the right decision.
Thank you to the freemasons who carried out Covid-19 checking on the gates and to the many committee members who worked to bring the weekend together with setup and pull down.
We had non-committee people working to ensure our success and many stewards and judges who came to officiate.
We hope you enjoyed the live streaming of some of our events and thanks to Leigh from Tech Support Melbourne and Alex Stojan and team, and you happily view the photos that are still to be uploaded over the next couple weeks.
Margaret Boon, our Secretary, and Sonia Leahy, our Treasurer, worked very hard in the lead-up to the weekend and must be thanked for the huge effort they both put in.
We had life members travel down from northern Victoria to work at Akoonah Park during the week and members of the Akoonah Park Committee of Management and the Dandenong Show Society all helping to ensure we held a great event.
Our many sponsors are to be thanked for their continued support and how much we appreciate their input.
The committee is now working towards a successful open horse show on Monday 14 March.

We can only hope 2023 will see us work toward a Berwick Show with all the traditional competitions and attractions which we host on behalf of our exhibitors and the people from the City of Casey and beyond.
