The Berwick City Cougars Baseball Club is celebrating the huge success of Ladies Day – the biggest day of the season.

Ladies Day is held to champion the women who work tirelessly for the club, giving them a relaxing day to pay back their efforts.

The event kicked off at 1pm on Saturday 19 February and included activities, raffles, prizes, drinks and good food.

Club secretary Deborah Barnett said it was a fantastic day.

“We had a photo booth station where ladies could take pictures with props, a pot painting station, a lady painting henna and a guess how many jelly beans in the jar game,” she said.

“We get a lot of donations and had a raffle with about 20 items to give away, from movie tickets and beauty packs to kitchenware.

“We had a bar and food provided by the club – we all pitched in to put it all together.”

A women’s game was held at 10:30am, followed by the seconds at 1pm and division one firsts team at 3:30pm.

“There were a lot of spectators there as well,” Ms Barnett said.

“The weather was perfect and it was a really good day – everybody had a great time.”

She said the club was hoping for a bigger and better event in 2023.

Tickets for Ladies Day cost $40 with the funds going directly back into the club.

Berwick City Cougars Baseball Club would like to thank their sponsors Polyflor Australia, Electricians for Schools, Scott Simpson Strength Coach and Fly Hi Sports for making the event possible.
