Casey Climate Plan: Have your say

The City of Casey is hosting five pop-up engagement events and two deliberative online climate action workshops across the next four weeks in its pursuit to reduce emissions.

The council is targeting net zero emissions by 2030 and net zero emissions for the community by 2040.

As climate change will impact everyone throughout the municipality with more extreme weather events, including dangerous heatwaves, longer and more intense fire seasons, drought conditions from decreased rainfall and increased storm activity, the council is putting the incumbency on residents to act.

The pop-up engagements will offer residents the opportunity to tell council what they think should be prioritised.

The first engagement will occur at Akoonah Park Farmer Market, Berwick, on Sunday 6 March from 8am-1pm.

On Wednesday 9 March, a popup engagement will occur at Selandra Community Hub from 9.30-11.00am and then another one at Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre from 12.30-2.30pm the same day.

Tooradin Farmers Market will host one from 8am-2pm on Sunday 20 March and the final one will be on Saturday 2 April at Bunjil Place Plaza from 10am-3pm.

The online workshops will occur at the following times: Thursday 24 March from 12-1pm, Tuesday 29 March from 5.30-7.30pm.
