Smoke Warning

VicEmergency is issuing a warning for smoke across southern metro, eastern metro, western metro, northern metro and parts of Gippsland.

The smoke is a result of planned burning operations within the Yarra Ranges, Lysterfield and the Dandenong Ranges.

People in the area may see or smell smoke.

There is no immediate threat to the community and no action is required.

Some people are more sensitive to the effects of breathing in smoke – those with a heart or lung condition including asthma or people who are pregnant, over the age of 65 years old or under the age of 14 are most sensitive t breathing in smoke.

People sensitive to smoke should try to stay indoors and seek to limit physical activity.
