With house prices continuing to skyrocket, it’s worth giving our youngest property ownership aspirants a taste of (semi) reality through this old classic.
Not only will they pick up bits and pieces about investments and financial management, but there’ll be plenty of life lessons along the way, too. Who knows what a Chance card will throw at them, or how long they’ll have to spend in jail?
Jenga
Choose your bricks carefully as you methodically work your way through the structure. Get locked in a three-way battle with gravity and a friend as piece-by-piece you try to prove you have the steadier hand.
No one wants to be that person who brings the tower down with an almighty shatter.
Scattergories
One that doesn’t require any equipment or pieces to be purchased, it can be done with just a pen and paper and is best-suited for groups of three or more children.
Pick your 10 categories – countries, vegetables, female names, whatever you decide – pick a letter, set a timer for 60 seconds and see what answers they come up with for each category that begin with the chosen letter.
Each player receives a point for each unique answer they provide, and the player with the most points after three rounds is declared the winner.
