Casey Group contributes to record Good Friday Appeal

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) raised more than one million dollars for the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal this year, with local brigades shaking tins, washing cars and running competitions to reach the incredible total.

Narre Warren CFA and Berwick CFA members were out in force on Good Friday tin rattling at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Clyde Road, Berwick.

Their efforts resulted in a total of $10349.30 raised for the Appeal, including more than $800 raised through their online ‘Virtual Tin Shake’, for donors who didn’t find themselves stopped at the lights this year.

Across the state, CFA volunteers helped raise an amazing $1,440,225 for the Good Friday Appeal.

On Friday CFA Acting Chief Officer Rohan Luke presented the cheque to the Royal Children’s Hospital, contributing to a record-breaking total of $22,328,154 raised for the Appeal this year.

“Congratulations to all our CFA volunteers involved, it was an amazing effort and you and your communities should be proud. It’s an honour that CFA continues to contribute in providing world-class care to our kids,” Mr Luke said.

“CFA is proud to have again thrown our support behind the Good Friday Appeal and we hope to continue raising money every year for the Royal Children’s Hospital.”

The CFA has been raising money for the Good Friday Appeal for the past 71 years, and to-date have raised more than $36 million for the cause since 1951.

The money raised for the appeal will go towards medical equipment, and ensuring sick kids at the Royal Children’s Hospital receive the best possible care.
