Investigation continues into dramatic collision

Dash cam footage has emerged of a dramatic collision between a motocycle rider and a vehicle in Narre Warren South in which the motorcyclist makes a spectacular dismount from his bike on Friday 1 April.

The video was uploaded to Youtube by Dash Cam Owners Australia on Friday 22 April and has been viewed nearly 190,000 times as of Tuesday 26 April.

The video shows two cars enter the intersection at Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road and Littlecroft Avenue with a green light to turn right, before abruptly stopping as one motorcyclist narrowly avoids colliding with the cars and pedestrians at high speed.

Moments later a second motorcycle rider also hits the intersection at high speed, colliding with the front of the stationary car in the right-hand turning lane, flinging the rider metres into the air and causing his body to rotate several times.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 4.05pm, according to Victoria Police.

The rider, a 23-year-old male from Dandenong, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing and anyone with information that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
