Federation University expands online

Federation University has announced it is expanding its education services to the online sphere, with the launch of Federation University Online.

Victoria’s ‘premier regional university’, which currently has campuses in Ballarat, Wimmera, Gippsland, Brisbane and Berwick, is initially offering seven entirely online programs starting from July this year.

Student can enrol in online studies including Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, Bachelor of Food and Nutrition, Master of Health (Advanced Nursing), Graduate Certificate in Health (Intensive Care Nursing), Graduate Certificate in Health (Emergency Nursing) and Graduate Certificate (Advanced Nursing).

Federation vice-chancellor and president Professor Duncan Bentley said the new offering will enable the University to diversify and increase its number of domestic students and enhance its regional impact through a new educational delivery channel that will help to address cross-regional and national skills shortages.

“As Victoria’s leading regional university, we understand the needs of regional students, employers and communities – Federation University Online allows us to reach people who are

time poor or who live in remote areas and would otherwise struggle to attend a university campus,” Mr Bentley said.

The University says students will have access to similar support services and resources as those who are completing their programs on campus.
