Pakenham and Cranbourne train services are operating directly to and from Flinders Street and will not travel through the City Loop this weekend.
Passengers using the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines are urged to plan their journeys ahead of time due to service changes in the City Loop and line upgrades in other locations.
Pakenham and Cranbourne trains will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, starting from 12.30am on Saturday, 16 July through to the last service Sunday, 17 July.
Passengers heading to the AFL for the weekend games should plan ahead.
Those travelling to Marvel Stadium or wishing to access other stations in the City Loop should change at Flinders Street and take a train from platforms two or three.
Passengers who need to access the affected lines from City Loop stations should take a train from Platform 3, or from Platform 13 at Southern Cross Station, then change at Flinders Street.
Tram services to and from Flinders Street Station provide another good alternative for travel through the CBD.
During this time, crews will work 24/7 near Parliament, Flagstaff and Melbourne Central stations on major upgrades to emergency management infrastructure.
Train services on the Belgrave, Lilydale, Glen Waverley, Sunbury, Craigieburn and Upfield lines will operate through the City Loop on the normal weekend timetable.
Additionally, buses will replace trains across the weekend on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines between Caulfield and Westall from 8pm on Saturday, 16 July to the last service on Sunday, 17 July.
Passengers are encouraged to visit ptv.vic.gov.au to help plan their journey.
