The Liberal Party has announced its candidate for the seat of Narre Warren South ahead of the State election in November.
Anglo-Indian woman and Narre Warren South local Annette Samuel will run for the seat against incumbent Labor MP Gary Maas, who was elected at the 2018 State election with 57.3 per cent of the two-party preferred vote.
Ms Samuel’s profile on the Victorian Liberal Party website describes her as an “administrator, professional, and small business owner who has lived and worked in Narre Warren South for 14 years”.
She lists uncertain employment, falling education standards, congested roads, a health crisis, and increasing cost of living as some of the key issues she hopes to provide solutions to.
“As an Anglo-Indian migrant who grew up in government railway housing with her single mother, Annette believes in the dignity of hard work, strong family values, and freedom of choice,” the profile says.
