The sounds of beautiful voices in harmony will soon be ringing through Hampton Park from Saturday 10 September, with an exciting new choir project that aims to bring people of all faiths, ages and cultural backgrounds together in a safe and supportive environment at the Peace Choir Project – Hampton Park.
Play It Forward is thrilled to present this free program celebrating cultural diversity and inclusion, in a new and exciting collaboration with CASEY SINGS! and Hampton Park Uniting Church, proudly supported by the City of Casey with a three-year funding grant.
The Peace Choir Project – Hampton Park launches on Saturday 10 September with a fun come and try workshop and will be led by award winning conductors Jonathon Welch, Founding Artistic Director of Play It Forward, together with Patrick Burns, Play It Forward’s Music Director.
“Play It Forward is honoured to partner with Hampton Park Uniting Church for the first time in this wonderful multifaith inclusive choir project,” Mr Welch said.
“We have been delivering choral programs and projects in the Casey area and working with the Casey Council for nearly a decade now, to deliver inclusive arts programs for all Australians.”
The choir will commence weekly rehearsals each Tuesday from 4 October through to 15 November at the Hampton Park Uniting Church starting at 3.30pm.
The Peace Choir Project – Hampton Park will celebrate their first season by performing at the ‘Let’s Celebrate Cultural Diversity’ concert on 19 November during this year’s Social Inclusion Week.
Peace Choir Project – Hampton Park will then continue rehearsing and performing in 2023 with a big concert planned at Bunjil Place.
“Hampton Park Peace Choir is a unique opportunity for people of all faiths and none, people of all ages and sexuality to come together in song,” Rev Ric Holland from the Hampton Park Uniting Church said.
