Police brief: Airwing tracks reckless Narre Warren driver

A Narre Warren man is facing a series of driving charges following a dangerous exhibition of driving on Wednesday 24 August.

Police Airwing were conducting patrols in the Ringwood area and observed a solo travelling at excessive speeds and lane splitting in wet weather.

The airwing continued observations on the Monash Freeway where the solo rider took the Ernst Wanke Road exit, pulling into a car park in Narre Warren, police say.

Police members swiftly arrested the 23-year-old Narre Warren man who was not aware of police presence on the ground.

The man has been charged and bailed to attend Dandenong Magistrate’s Court on 20 January 2023 with charges of:

• Two counts of Reckless Conduct Endangering Life

• Two counts of Reckless Conduct Endangering Serious Injury

• Drive at a Speed Dangerous

• Careless Driving

• Reckless Exposure of Police Officer to Risk by Driving

• Four counts of Resist Police Officer

• Unlicensed Driving

• Use Unregistered Motor Vehicle

He is also expected to be summonsed to court at a later date in relation to speed related offences.

It is alleged the solo travelled at speeds in excess of 200km/h, police say.

The solo was also impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $1019.
