CCTV footage released following stabbing

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance after a man was sighted with what was believed to be a large, edged weapon in Narre Warren North yesterday.

Police were called to Troups Creek Retarding Basin after the man was spotted about 9am on Thursday, 6 October, however they were unable to locate him.

Investigators believe the incident may be related to a stabbing at the weekend where two people were injured.

Police were told a man and a woman were walking along a track adjacent to Drysdale Avenue, near the intersection of Settlers Hill Place, about 6.50am on Sunday, 2 October.

It is believed a man approached the pair and attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon, before fleeing the scene on foot.

A 70-year-old Narre Warren man and a 57-year-old Pakenham woman were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
