Have your say on Berwick apartment complex proposal

Berwick residents are entering the final days of submissions in relation to a proposed apartment complex to be constructed across 29, 31 and 33 Lyall Road.

Public submissions close on the proposal for the development of two three-storey buildings comprising 32 apartments and buildings and works on land in a Special Building Overlay on Monday, May 8.

The site is opposite the Pioneer Park public open space and diagonally opposite the Berwick Village Activity Centre.

With an estimated cost of $20 million and covering 3065 square metres, the proposed development will also include the provision of 62 car spaces and 46 bicycle spaces, as well as 11 two-bedroom apartments and 21 three-bedroom apartments.

With a maximum height of 10.8 metres at the rear of Building A, the development will have another storey partially below ground and another storey completely underground housing car parking spaces.

The traffic impact assessment report shows the development will generate 192 vehicle movements, including 19 movement during peak hours.
