The Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road Upgrade has broken new ground in its efforts to keep local CALD communities informed about the project, with senior project engineer Eason Lin recently giving an interview in Mandarin with Casey Radio 97.7 FM.

Mr Lin, who speaks fluent Mandarin, was a guest on Casey Radio’s SameVoice Mandarin program.

In a broad-ranging interview with program host Raymond Chow, Mr Lin spoke about the numerous benefits the Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road Upgrade will deliver for people travelling through Cranbourne, along with how local CALD communities can stay up to date with upcoming works.

This continues the upgrade’s successful partnership with Casey Radio, which has been airing regular project updates throughout 2023 in Sinhalese, Dari, Mandarin and Hindi – ensuring effective engagement with the City of Casey’s fast-growing CALD communities.

“Effective communication with local communities about our projects is at the very core of what we do – and Casey Radio 97.7 FM has provided us with a valuable platform to engage with a broader range of people about the Narre-Warren Cranbourne Road Upgrade,” said Major Road Projects Victoria Program Director Marc Peterson.

As part of the Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road Upgrade, Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is adding an extra lane in each direction between Thompsons Road and the South Gippsland Highway, upgrading 11 intersections, including installing eight new sets of traffic signals and building new shared walking and cycling paths installing safety barriers along the road.

Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road will become a straight-through movement when travelling north from South Gippsland Highway, with the upgrade set to deliver improved traffic flow, improved safety and reduced traffic.
