Casey locals can now connect to services, resources and activities more easily thanks to the trial expansion of the Casey Council’s Link Worker Program.
As part of the three-month trial running until the end of August, program team members are available to provide face-to-face support between 10am and 2pm on Wednesdays at the council’s Customer Service Centre at Bunjil Place and on Thursdays at Cranbourne Park Customer Service Centre.
Casey Council community life director Callum Pattie said the Link Worker Program is a pilot initiative the council has introduced to connect community members to the services and support they need.
“The aim of the program is to improve the wellbeing of our community members by connecting them to the activities, services and resources they need to live well,” he said.
“We’re delighted to be able to expand this program to provide this additional face-to-face support for our community over the coming months, so I encourage you to drop into our customer services centres and speak with our friendly team to find out how they can support you and connect you to what you need.”
The team can connect to a wide range of services, support and activities, including aged, disability and carer services and support groups, employment and volunteering opportunities, financial counselling and debt management agencies, crisis support agencies and food relief, housing support, and social and exercise groups.
