Motorcycle rider found unlicensed

Casey Highway Patrol members were conducting patrols along Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road in Narre Warren South on Sunday 16 July when they observed a red Triumph Daytona motorcycle bearing home-made false number plates.

Police pulled in front of the stationary motorcycle to attempt an intercept and when walking up to the motorcycle, the rider attempted to evade police.

With his attempt unsuccessful, the rider immediately surrendered to police.

Checks revealed the 42-year-old male rider from Bentleigh has never held a licence to drive any type of motor vehicle and is currently Disqualified from obtaining a licence until 2027.

The driver will be summonsed to attend at the Dandenong Magistrates Court for charges including Disqualified Driving, Affixing a False Registration Plate and Use Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

The motorcycle was impounded at a cost of $1,005.00 and will be held at the police impound lot for a period of 30 days.
