Suspicious house fire in Cranbourne East

Fire Rescue Victoria have confirmed that a house fire in Cranbourne East in the early hours of Tuesday 22 August is being treated as suspicious.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said FRV crews were assisted by Country Fire Authority crews, with Victoria Police also attending.

“At 12.35am Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) was called to an incident at Criterion Way, Cranbourne East following reports of a car fire in a garage at a house under construction,” the spokesperson said.

“FRV crews arrived on scene to find a 2 storey townhouse fully involved in fire.

“The fire is being treated as suspicious.”

A building surveyor will attend to assess the structural integrity of the building.
