Fundraiser to help bowls club

A fundraiser will be held to support a bowls club which was hit by scammers.

When Upwey-Tecoma recently fell victim to a vicious email scam robbing them of much-needed funds to repair damage to greens from a flood last October, the team at the Narre Warren Bowls Club jumped into action to help out.

The Narre Warren club will be holding A Leg Up for Upwey-Tecoma Bowls Club Fundraiser event on Sunday 1 October, with all profits being donated to Upwey-Tecoma.

The team from Summerset’s Cranbourne North village have donated raffle prizes and will also be helping out on the day.

“It’s the least we can do to support our local community,” said Leanne Heathcote, sales manager for Summerset’s Cranbourne North village.
