Fire lessons for local girls’ brigade

The girls also had a go at the fire hose during the visit.

The Narre Warren Girls’ Brigade has Brigade completed their annual fire safety training and assessment.

The Narre Warren North CFA brigade hosted the members on Thursday 14 September.

Narre Warren Girls’ Brigade captain Cheree Hemmings said the members learnt about the importance of being fire safe, learnt how to identify fire hazards and practised their fire drill.

“Tamara and her team gave the Girls’ Brigade members opportunities to explore the fire truck and have a go at holding a fire hose and turning it on, seeing the fire volunteers in their firefighting outfits, meeting Captain Koala and asking questions,” she said.

“This was a great community initiative and partnership between Narre Warren Girls’ Brigade and Narre Warren North CFA.”
