WorkSafe is investigating the death of a truck driver at a building site in Berwick after he was crushed by a crane last week.

It is understood the 28-year-old was working alone unloading timber products when he was struck and crushed by the boom of a truck-mounted crane at about 2pm on Friday 1 March.

The death is the eighth confirmed workplace fatality for 2024, with 13 work-related deaths at the same time last year.
