Police were called to a three-vehicle collision in Officer which caused a path of destruction.

A 4.5 tonne truck is alleged to have collided with two parked cars and uprooted a large tree on Dahl Drive around 10.30pm Sunday 10 March.

The driver, a 29-year-old man, providing an evidentiary breath test with of 0.157.

He was also found to be unlicenced.

Police additionally established the two parked vehicles that were damaged were owned by friends of the truck driver and he was on his way to visit them.

The Officer man will be charged on summons with

-Exceed the prescribed concentration of alcohol

-Drive under the influence of alcohol

-Drive in a manner dangerous

-Careless driving

-Unlicenced driving

He will appear in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

This forms part of Operation Arid, the state-wide road policing operation aimed at reducing road trauma and lives lost on our roads over the Labour Day long weekend.

Operation Arid ran from 12.01.am Friday 8 March to 11.59pm on Monday 11 March.
