Q&A… with Dads of Casey leader Brad Wood

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

When not being a dad and working, I love riding my mountain bike!

What do you love the most about being a father?

Watching my kids develop in to independent humans and watching them learn.

What has it meant to you to help local dads and what is next for your efforts in this space?

I think I am very privileged and honoured to work with dads across the city of Casey. Being a dad can have its moments and being there to support other dads just motivates me to keep on doing what Dads Group does and to promote and change society views on what it means to be a dad!

What has been your most memorable moment?

Watching my kids be born!

What were you like as a kid?

I was the loud, lovable kid! I loved a joke at my poor teachers’ expense!

What is special about Dads Group?

Dads Group is special because we are developing spaces where dads can seek resources and information. Providing that information then impacts the kids, the mums and just makes the family unit better and I am so glad to be working and contributing to this!

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Loud, funny and kind.

What would you do on your perfect ‘day off’?

Go up to Bright and get on my bike and ride!

Where is your happy place?

It can be anywhere with good mountain biking. Bright is my favourite if I am taking a road trip, but I also love Lysterfield as my local trails!

If you had to compete on MasterChef, what dish would you cook?

Chicken nuggets and chips – if you ask my kids, that’s what I would cook!

Where is your dream holiday destination?

Anywhere with the kids! We have been to Fiji and I want to take the kids to Disneyland.
